Veterans Seminar
A monthly veterans affairs seminar is planned for 10am to noon in the commissioners meeting room. Jim Torok of Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Melinda Hodge, a social worker at the Ridgewood Center, will be the speakers.

Lincoln High School honored our Veterans in their annual Veteran's Day Program held on Tuesday, November 11, 2009. Mr. Frank Keally, Assistant Principal, opened the program. Mr. Felix Cistolo was recognized for being the recipient of the French Legion of Honor. Mr. Sam Teolis, World War II Veteran served as Master of Ceremonies. He is also the Director of Teolis Funeral Home here in Ellwood City. There was an Honor Guard Processional by the combined Ellwood City Area Veteran Groups. The invoation was given by the Reverant Tod Custor, Pastor at Christ Presbyterian Church. The Star Spangled Banner and the Lincoln High School Alma Mater were performed by the Junior High School Band, under the direction of Evan Cumo. The Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Sam Teolis. Two Eighth Graders, Julie Kooser and Alex Krosovic both read their own stories on "What Veteran's Day Means to Me." The Thunder March by John Phillip Sousa was performed by the Junior High Band. Main speaker was Corporeal Stanley Piecuch, Iraqi War Veteran. Also, there was a Firing Squad by the combined Veterans Oranization. Taps was performed by Ashley Buchta and Blake Froce.
