The Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce has several committees made up of volunteer members who work with each other to provide valuable services and support to the Chamber membership, the community and our local economy:
Executive Committee: Addresses issues relating to administration and operation of the Chamber, including personnel, by-laws, development and review of the annual budget. The executive committee also assigns duties and/or projects to the various other committees for appropriate action.
Legislative Committee: Works proactively with local, county, state and federal officials on issues that affect the Ellwood City area. The committee advocates on behalf of the business community and advises the Chamber Board on any action to be taken concerning legislative issues. This committee also works with area borough and township officials to identify potential sites for industrial development. The Legislative Committee is a valuable forum where local industries can address common issues while encouraging area manufacturers to actively participate on the community.
Marketing Committee: Assesses and areas assets and promotes awareness of the many local benefits of Ellwood City and the surrounding area to potential residents, visitors and businesses. The Marketing Committee also promotes the value of the community to new, potential businesses considering locating in our area in order to stimulate economic growth and security.
Special Events Committee: Organizes several special events for the Chamber, including but not limited to the Annual Golf Outing, Annual Chamber Dinner, Light Up Night and the Chef, Wine & Ale Event. They offer networking events and business-to-business mixers and seminars on a variety of business related topics throughout the year. The Special Events Committee also works closely with other organizations in the area who sponsor community events throughout the year.
Membership Committee: Focuses on the interests and needs of members and identifies opportunities that can benefit and expand active membership. The committee also develops and promotes new services that enhance membership value.
Nominating Committee: Identifies and nominates Chamber members to serve on the Board of Directors and nominates Board members to serve as officers.
