Part Time Seasonal Position March Thru October

Summary of Duties: Fire/Rescue is responsible for the safety of our customers on track and occasionally on the other facility surfaces. When accidents happen, Fire/Rescue staff coordinate with Race Control and EMS workers.

Reporting Relationship: Fire/Rescue Staff work under the direction of the Safety Coordinator and Safety Team Lead in the Operations department.

Working Conditions: Fire/Rescue staff will be exposed to hot, cold, and inclement weather conditions.

Primary Duties:

These responsibilities are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position. Items listed are your priority but do not exclude you from offering assistance to other Pitt Race programs/employees when needed.

  • Provide visual communication (flagging) to drivers in a racing environment.
  • Communicate via two-way radio
  • Ensure compliance with fire, safety, and security standards.
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of race vehicle towing procedures.
  • Drive an emergency vehicle and perform firerescue duties.
  • Assist in delivering emergency medical care.
  • Prepare incident reports, including records of weather conditions, and other relevant incident information.
  • Maintain equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Adhere to Pitt Race dress code and all safety standards for dress.
  • Properly utilize all required personal protective equipment.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to function in a stressful environment
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Basic First Aid/CPR/AED certifications.
  • Firefighting and Rescue certifications/licenses preferred (please provide copies).
  • Essentials of Firefighting (All 4 parts)
  • NIMS – 100, 200, 700 or FEMA incident command
  • Rescue Technician BVR
  • HAZ-MAT Operations
  • Familiarity with pump and hose operation.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic tool operation.

Preferred, but not required:

Emergency Services licenses from SCCA, FIA, ACO, or other professional sanctioning body.

  • NIMS 200, 300, 400
  • EMR, EMT-B or EMT-P
  • HAZ-MAT Tech
  • Firefighter 1 or 2, or higher
